What are Highlights?

Highlights are the bright areas of a photo: sky, white clothing, reflections on skin, windows, and light sources.

Concept

Harsh highlights can make a photo feel digital or clipped.

But reducing them too much kills the light. The goal is to soften brightness while keeping light alive.

Use Highlights in SELON to soften hard whites, then use Glow or Halation to restore the afterglow of light.

Do not simply darken clipped areas; keep their presence photographic.
