SELON Manual / Glow Bloom

What are Glow and Bloom?

Glow and Bloom describe how light remains inside the image. They soften hard highlights and make light feel less digital without simply blurring the photo.

Glow

Glow is a soft spread of light. It can work well on skin, windows, white clothing, and backlit edges.

The goal is not a sleepy image. The goal is light that feels present.

Bloom

Bloom is a stronger overflow from bright highlights. It is most visible around night lights, reflections, and near-clipped sources.

SELON separates Bloom from Halation: Bloom is the spread of brightness, while Halation is the trace of color.
