SELON Manual / What is DNG?

What is DNG?

DNG stands for Digital Negative. It is a file format used to store RAW image data and related metadata.

Concept

DNG often works as a RAW container, but it may also include preview images and metadata.

The embedded preview can look different from the actual RAW data.

How to use it in SELON

SELON aims to use RAW-derived image data from DNG, not just the embedded preview.

For desktop DNG workflows, the latest Google Chrome is recommended because Safari may be less stable.
